Escape to the tropics? A monsoon shower head with colourful wall panel illumination, e.g. in green, will bring a sense of adventure to your bathroom. Perhaps you prefer bright light in the morning to start your day with a sense of refreshment? In that case, simply set the seamless colour control of your LED illumination to white. After a long day, nothing could be more relaxing than a shower with warmer hues of red and orange.
To create more light in showers, install illuminated niches for accessories or lines of light in wall and ceiling or in corners. Turn the remainder of the bathroom into a wellness landscape: The bathtub appears to float with indirect LED illumination and the cove lighting makes the room appear larger.
All LIPROTEC products are protected against splash water and conform to either IP65 or IP67, making them ideally suited for use in wet rooms. Our PLAN section shows which products you can use in showers and wetrooms. It includes a list of all products with technical information and application areas, clearly explained with icons.
At a glance:

Wet room regulations
Bathrooms are classified as wet spaces. Certain protective measures must therefore be taken into account for light design. These are specified for the UK in the IIE Wiring Regulations – latest Edition and European standard DIN VDE 0100 Part 701 for bathrooms.
This standard distinguishes three protection areas:
Zone 0
Includes the interior of bathtubs and shower trays. Any fitting used in this zone must be low voltage, (max 12v) and be rated at least IP67 which is total immersion proof. The LIPROTEC illumination system wiring 24v. Accordingly, Zone 0 the LIPROTEC system is not suitable.
Zone 1
Is defined as the vertical area of the bathtub or shower to a height of 225cm from the floor. In this zone a minimum rating of IP45 is required but it is generally accepted that IP65 is to be used.
In both cases, this limitation extends from the finished floor to a height of 225 cm. If the showerhead or the water outlet is higher than the horizontal line of 225 cm, the upper height must be assumed as the limit.
Zone 2
Extends from Zone 1 horizontally for a minimum of 60 cm from the perimeter of the bath or shower and to a height of 2.25m from the floor. The lights installed in Zone 1 and 2 must at a minimum comply with protection class IP 64 (protection against splash water from all directions). In addition it is good practice to consider the area around a wash basin, within a 60 cm radius of any tap to be considered as Zone 2. If there is a possibility of water jets, for example from massage jets, protection class IP 65 (protection against water jets from all directions) is required at a minimum. Our LED strips conform to IP 65.
In all instances the power supplies for LIPROTEC must be located outside of Zones 1 and 2.
